New Report Suggest That the iPhone 8 Will Arrive On Time After All
There have been a lot of rumors circulating about the iPhone 8. Most of them have centered around the phone’s design and features and have, overall, generated a lot of positive buzz for the company. I say “most” because there have been a few troubling rumors regarding possible supply shortages and even delays. However,a recent report suggest that those rumors are just that, rumors.
A report originally published by the Chinese Economic Daily News says that Apple will reveal their newest smartphone in September of this year with a launch scheduled for October.
The article says that recent discussions with manufacturers and members of Apple’s supply chain reveal that they are hiring new workers in preparation to ramp up production in time for the October launch of the iPhone 8.
While this report is certainly good news for Apple and its many fans, it should be taken with a grain of salt. Many reports from other news outlets and industry analysts have cited numerous problems with the upcoming iPhone. Some have speculated that Apple is still in the prototype phase and is having trouble settling on a design for the new phone. This is consistent with the fact that there have been several wildly different iPhone 8 concepts that have been leaked over the past few months.
Others have cited production issues within Apple’s supply chain. These rumors stem from the fact that Apple is rumored to be making several major improvements to the iPhone such as OLED dispaly, improved chip set, and 3D camera. As impressive as those features may be, it is possible that they are slowing down production.
Another report pins the blame on Samsung’s alleged inability to deliver on key features such as wireless charging which is apparently resulting in the prototypes overheating.
Regardless, these are only rumors at this point so it should all be taken with caution, but we should know more in the coming months.
