Palit Announces GTX 1080 Ti GameRock Cards With Four Fans
The faster GTX 1080 Ti graphics card by NVIDIA has been release for a while now and although most graphics cards brands have already released their fair share of different cards based on the new GPU, Palit has decided to extend its line-up with the GTX 1080 Ti GameRock and GameRock Premium Edition.
As opposed to Palit’s own JetStream cards, the GameRock models will be equipped with no less than four fans. Although cosmetically it appears there are only two fans, Palit has stacked two fans on top of each other to increase cooling effectiveness. This does cause the graphics card to be higher than its competitors and it will occupy two and a half slots. Both GameRock cards will also require two 8-pin PCIe power connectors. RGB LED lighting is present, and both cards also feature two BIOS files and a built-in switch.
Palit will include its ThunderMaster Utility software to adjust and customize the graphics card. The GameRock cards have three separate fan and clock speed profiles: Gaming, OC, and Silence. Gaming mode will increase the clock speeds of the Palit GameRock cards to 1505 MHz normal and 1620 MHz boost for the regular version, while the Premium edition increases this even further up to 1556 MHz normal clock speed and 1670 MHz in boost mode. The OC profile ramps it up even further with 1518 / 1594 MHz in regular mode and 1632 / 1708 MHz in boost mode for the GameRock and GameRock Premium, respectively. There are 11 gigabytes of memory that operates at a clock speed of 5500 MHz.
The back of both cards feature DVI, HDMI 2.0 and a trio of DisplayPort 1.4 inputs. A precise recommended retail price and release date haven’t been announced yet, although some retailers have listed the GameRock cards for well over 800 dollars.
