Powercolor Confirms April 18th as Release Date For RX 570 and RX 580
Graphics card manufacturer PowerColor has announced on one of its local Facebook pages that the AMD Radeon RX 570 and Radeon RX 580 will be launched op April 18th, next Tuesday. That date has been showing up in a lot of rumors for quite some time, but hadn’t been confirmed yet by an official manufacturer or another direct source.
It is expected that the RX 570 and RX 580 will be closely related to the current RX 470 and RX 480 graphics cards in architecture and performance. That means the RX 500 series is most likely a rebrand with slightly higher clock speeds. The RX 580 will receive a boost clock speed of 1340 MHz, which is a 6% improvement over the standard 1266 MHz of the RX 480.
Along with the release date announcement, Powercolor also shared a picture of one of their upcoming graphics cards. The card in the picture is presumed to be the Powercolor RX 580 Red Devil, with dual-BIOS functionality and an extra power connector for greater overclocking headroom.
