Microsoft’s Surface Book 2 May Be Delayed
Fans of Microsoft’s Surface Book may be in for some disappointing news as ZDnet has reported that the long-awaited Surface Book 2 may not be arriving this spring. It was originally believed that Microsoft would unveil the newest version of its popular PC at a hardware event later this spring, but recent rumors indicate otherwise.
ZDnet has reported that several of their contacts at Microsoft have said that the Redmond-based company is currently unhappy with the state of the Surface Book 2 and has delayed the launch in order to make improvements. It’s unclear whether or not the Surface Pro 5 has been delayed as well or if only the PC has been pushed back.
As far as we know, Microsoft is still planning on holding an event sometime this spring, but exactly what they will show off remains to be seen. It’s possible they will provide more details regarding the Windows 10 Creators Update, but that update is scheduled to release sometime in spring of 2017 so it may already be here by the time Microsoft’s event rolls around.
That being said, these are merely rumors so it is possible that Microsoft will release their new PC after all. It also possible that they will unveil a new product in the Surface line, but, if so, the company has released no details about it. As a general rule, Microsoft is wary of releasing hardware that will directly compete with their partners so another Surface product would likely be designed to fill a niche that the company believes is currently empty.
