GameStop Will Have The Nintendo Switch In Stock Wednesday
The Nintendo Switch launched March 3rd, but if you didn’t have a pre-order or happen to walk in that day, you’ve probably found it rather difficult to find the console (at a reasonable price). Ebay has the console marked up to an average price of $450 for the base model. There’s the $500 Switch bundle with three games on Ebay for as much as $4,000. If you don’t want to pay a massive markup, you’re in luck. According to a report from GameSpot, GameStop will have a shipment of Nintendo Switch’s on March 22nd. It’s unclear how many consoles will be available, but we at least have hope.
On Reddit everyone talking about the console restocking. There are concerns about how many consoles will make its way into stores. Before you line up on Wednesday morning, remember not every GameStop is made the same. You’ll need to call ahead to confirm a shipment of Switch consoles.
GameStop will restock the Nintendo Switch this week
Whether the Switch is restocked on Wednesday or later in the week, we’re getting another wave of consoles. Nintendo recently updated their estimates for their Switch sales this year, more than doubling their initial expectations. The increase will mean more Switch consoles in stores and online. I called my local GameStops to confirm a restock, but everyone directed me to call or to show up each day.
GameStop has confirmed they’re restocking the console, but they’re unclear on how many Switch’s. They cite the increased, high-demand for the consoles quick restocking. We’re still waiting on Target, Walmart, Amazon, and other retailers to get more stock. Target has seen a trickle of consoles enter the stores, but they’ve gone fast. If you want a console today, without a markup, then GameStop is your best bet. You’ll need to call and show up for the whole week to try and snag one of the consoles.
Let us know below if you’ve found the console in stores or if you’ve been shopping on eBay for the Nintendo Switch.
