Microsoft Offers More Options For Updates In Upcoming Creators Update
Windows updates are a necessary evil. On one hand, they add new features, improved security and, in theory, provide a better experience for users. On the other hand, Windows has an annoying habit of installing updates whenever it wants regardless of the user might want. However, with the upcoming Creators Update, Microsoft is planning on offering users more control over how and when their PC’s apply updates.
With the upcoming update, users will be able to schedule exactly when an update will occur. Additionally, they will be able to reschedule the update if they decide the chosen time isn’t convenient. The Creators Update will also bring the “Snooze” feature which will allow users to pause the update for up to three days. Beyond this, users will also be able to add schedule “active hours” so Windows will know not to install updates within certain time ranges.
Microsoft did stress that they believe that it’s important to keep your computer up to date for security purposes and they recommended that users rely on the default update option.
