Nokia Unveils The Updated 3310 Complete With Snake
The Mobile World Congress is one of the biggest events in the mobile phone industry. Normally, the MCW is dominated by news of the latest smartphone, but this year’s was a bit different as the revived Nokia 3310 stole the show.
If that name sounds a bit familiar, it’s because the Nokia 3310 was one of the most popular phones from the pre-smartphone era and it still has plenty of loyal fans to this day. Part of the phone’s appeal came from its long-lasting battery – and the updated 3310 appears to be keeping that feature. HMD, the company manufacturing the phone, has said the phone will have a standby time of more than a month and 22 hours of talk time. Of course, since this phone is not a smartphone, you won’t be wasting too much time on apps or watching videos so that will definitely improve the battery life. That being said, the phone will offer basic web browsing and even a color-version of the classic game Snake.
In addition to its battery life, the original 3310 earned a reputation for being nigh indestructible. In a time where even $1,000 smartphones require a $50 case, there are likely some users will long for the days when dropping your phone wasn’t a cause of panic.
The 3310 is currently set to retail for $49.99
