Project Scorpio Will Take Advantage Of Windows 10 Game Mode
If you do not know what the Windows 10 Game Mode is, it is a mode that optimizes the hardware and software resources in order to make your system run games better. Sources claim that the Xbox ecosystem along with Project Scorpio will take advantage of Windows 10 Game Mode.
This is not surprising as the Xbox One is already running Windows 10 and according to what we have seen so far, Project Scorpio will also be running the same OS. This means that with the same OS it is possible that we will get features of the Xbox One on Project Scorpio as well. This will be something interesting to see.
Although there have been many claims regarding the upcoming 4K gaming console there is little that we know for sure. We know that the Xbox Scorpio will have the following features:
- 6 TFLOPs of performance
- 320GB per second memory bandwidth
- 8 CPU Cores
According to Windows Central:
“Game Mode, it appears, is a feature that streamlines variations between Xbox consoles and PCs, making sure as many Windows 10 systems as possible can run games to the standards set by the Xbox One and Project Scorpio.”
Reports also suggest that Windows 10 Game Mode. will be for games that are tied to the Windows Store. This means that you will not be able to use the feature for games that have not been purchased from the Windows Store. This could encourage gamers to use the Windows Store but there is also a chance of things going south. I for one do not like the Windows Store and use Steam for gaming.
Microsoft has said that Project Scorpio will be able to run games at native 4K, how Windows 10 Game Mode will affect the performance of the console is something we will have to wait and see. What do you think about Windows 10 Game Mode?
