Sony Suspends PSN User Account For Sharing Watch Dogs 2 Screen
Watch Dogs 2 rating makes it clear that the game includes highly sexual content but we did not expect the content to be this sexual considering that it is a game based on a group of hacking activists. This is a case of a PSN user who got his account blocked by sharing an explicit image from the game.
NeoGAF user Goron2000 states:
“I received my copy of Watch Dogs 2 on Saturday evening due to a mistake on Amazon Prime Now and I’ve been having a great time with the game so far. On Sunday evening I accidentally blew up a few women in a back alley with a gas pipe and then I saw *it*; someone at Ubisoft had rendered a full vagina on one (or maybe more) of the females in the game.”
If you were planning on playing Watch Dogs 2 in the lounge on the big screen then you better make sure that you have the house to yourself otherwise you could be caught up in an awkward and embarrassing situation to say the very least.
The user’s account has been suspended because according to Sony he has shared “content of an adult or sexual nature”. This is against the Sony code of conduct which states the following:
“Make sure your Online ID, messages, forum posts, user-generated content or any other form of communication are not offensive to others: do not post anything that is defamatory (making an untrue statement that may be damaging to the person concerned) or racially, ethnically, religiously or sexually offensive.”
This creates a huge dilemma. Who is wrong here? The picture was allowed to be share through the Sony share button in the first place and not the user’s PSN account has been suspended for a week. This seems to be too strict and there should be a warning before suspension at least.
