AMD Agressively Marketing Against GTX 1050 Series GPUs
AMD has taken the release of the GTX 1050 Series as a great thread and for good reason. The GPU claims to provide great entry-level performance for a competitive price.
Not only has AMD cut prices on the RX 470 and RX 460 GPUs but now AMD has released some marketing material and the company is aggressively marketing the RX 470 and the RX 460 against the GTX 1050 series GPUs.
The RX 470D is also rumored to come out to counter the sales of the GTX 1050 Series GPUs. The RX 470 is a bit costly as compared to the GTX 1050 Series GPU but it also comes with more stream cores as well as more TDP. The RX 470 would be a better-suited card when it comes to overclocking.
In the AMD marketing material, the company has tried to showcase the fact that the RX 470 and the RX 460 are better value for money and now that AMD has cut down on prices these offerings seem even better.
The RX 460 is great for e-sports and games like DOTA2 and League of Legends and it will be competing with the GTX 1050. AMD has compared the RX 470 to the GTX 1050 Ti even though it seems that the AMD GPU is superior as compared to what team green has to offer.
Keeping all this in mind I am going to have to see how the GTX 1050 Series GPU hold up when it comes to in-game performance. Leaks and benchmarks are great in theory but it is the actual in-game performance that we gamers are concerned with at the end of the day.
The GTX 1050 Series GPUs are coming out today and AMD has waited till the release of the GPUs to cut down the prices. We will see how these two collide with one another and who takes the win when it comes to entry-level GPUs.
