PS4 Pro 4K Upscaling Method Will Hardly Be Differ-able
The PS4 Pro is coming out next month and people are talking about how the PS4 Pro might now run games natively at 4K and that is true but in an interview with Mark Cerny, he explained how the PS4 Pro 4K upscaling method is so good that you will hardly be able to tell the difference between PS4 Pro 4K upscaling and native 4K.
Having that said he demoed a game showing off the game running both at native 4K on the PS4 Pro as well as PS4 Pro 4K upscaling and it was to be noted that apart from some minor detailing there was no significant difference between the graphics of both outputs. It was also noticed that if you are sitting back then the difference is negligible.
He also talked about how more and more people were buying HDR TVs and 4K TVs. He mentioned that even if you do not own a 4K TV you can still take advantage of the PS4 Pro and its better hardware performance. He also claimed that users will get a better PSVR experience with the PS4 Pro as well.
If you were wondering with PS device to go with then the PS4 Pro would be the obvious option for you if you already own a PS4. The slim version will not be an upgrade in that case and you will only be paying for the smaller form factor. If you go wth the PS4 Pro you will have the PS4 Pro 4K upscaling feature along with better performance and an overall better gaming experience.
Whether you should buy the PS4 Pro when it comes out or if you should wait for more information regarding the Project Scorpio is something for another article but if you want native 4K then you are better off waiting for a bit before you go out and buy the PS4 Pro next month.
