Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Out Sells The GTX 980 Ti And GTX 980
If you take the Titan XP out of the equation then the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 is the most powerful GPU on the market and it seems that it is also the best selling high-end GPU that Nvidia has produced. It has managed to beat the successful previous generation GTX 980 as well as the GTX 980 Ti.
The GTX 1o series GPU as a whole have been incredibly successful because of which this GPU are really short in the market and whenever there is a new shipment the GPUs sell out in no time at all. This has caused a lot of problems when it comes to demand and supply. People are even willing to pay higher prices than the MSRP, which we have talked about in a previous article.
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 and 1070 were the first GPUs introduced in the 10 series line and they are the high-end GPUs in the series. The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 is 25% faster than the previous generation Titan X and costs less as well.
According to sources Nvidia had prepared for launch day and had more stock ready than that of the GTX 980 launch and still all the GPUs sold out on launch day. If that is not success than I do not know what is.
Even though the PC market is declining the PC gaming market is still thriving and the demand for high-end GPUs is increasing especially in countries like China. This is another factor that accounts for the success of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080.
As gamers want and need higher-end hardware now more than ever there is a shift in the market, Nvidia has taken great advantage of that shift as there is a huge profit margin in high-end, premium GPUs.
There is no doubt that Nvidia has made a pretty penny from the 10 series GPUs and this has been well earned as all this has plenty of research and development behind it which the company has to account for at the end of the year.
