Quantum Break DX12 Performance Is Worse As Compared To DX11
Quantum Break has been a highly anticipated title and it as been out for some time now. The game runs fine if you are playing it on a console but when it comes to PC, it is another story entirely. Here, we show you that the Quantum Break DX12 performance is actually worse than when running the game with DX11. Here is a video that shows you exact that. Even with latest GTX 1060 GPU, the game was not able to reach 60 FPS. It is safe to say that Quantum Break DX12 performance is far from perfect.
Now that the Steam version of the game is out, the game is being tested using both DX12 and DX12. Quantum Break DX12 performance tests show a drop in FPS, a significant drop I might add. Running a GeForce GTX 970 Quantum Break ran at 33FPS on DX12 and 44.7FPS on DX11. This is an 11 FPS performance drop right there.
Taking things up a notch and adding a latest gen 10 series GPU from Nvidia into the equation, the outcome still remains the same. The GPU in question here is the GTX 1060. With the new GPU, Quantum Break DX12 performance was still pretty poor. We see 39.5FPS on DX12, 47.5FPS on DX11.
Who is to blame here? Is the game poorly optimized for PC and will need some updates in order for it to function properly or is it that DX12 is just not there, where we expected it to be by now. It seems that DX12 is not having the impact on gaming which we hoped for. At least, we have not seen a significant difference. In this case, the DX12 performance is actually worse.
