Amazon Alexa Could Replace Cortana In Lenovo Windows 10 Laptops
Integration of digital assistants in PCs seems to be the new trend these days. One of the digital assistants that I have become increasingly fond of ever since Windows 10 came out is Microsoft’s Cortana. Being an old Windows Phone user till I recently turned to iOS, I have to say that Cortana is pretty interesting and charming while being functional as well. I found that she reminded me stuff that I had forgotten about making life a bit easier. Now it seems that Amazon Alexa could be a potential threat to Cortana on Lenovo Windows 10 laptops.
A report claims that Lenovo and Amazon are discussing bringing Amazon Alexa to Windows 10 Lenovo laptops. Amazon Alexa already appears on a few devices and now it seems that Amazon wants the digital assistant on Lenovo PCs as well. But how would that work as compared to the default Cortana option? Would both work side by side or would Amazon Alexa replace Cortana entirely?
A Lenovo executive has had a meeting with Amazon and though we do not know the details of the matter this is being talked about at the moment. It will be interesting to see how Microsoft reacts to these series of events. They do provide the OS after all and I am sure they will have something to say about the matter at hand.
I do not think that Alexa will be able to push Cortana out of the equation. People would have gotten used to the digital assistant by now and unless Amazon Alexa has something extraordinary to offer I find it hard that people would prefer this change over the default option that has been there for some time now.
But then again that is what I think and you could have another opinion entirely. What do you think about this?
