HIS Radeon RX 480 IceQX2 Roaring with OC and Turbo Versions
We talked about an ugly duckling RX 480 a few weeks ago and here it is. The HIS Radeon RX 480 IceQX2 Roaring. Yes, I know it is a mouthful but as I mentioned earlier I doubt anyone in their right state of mind is going to buy one of these. The GPU features a roaring lion on the front, a literal gold roaring lion. The GPU is black while the fans are blue. Who does that?
If they were going to go with black as the main color for the card they should have stuck with it all the way. We have seen black fans on black GPUs and that is no rocket science it is simple color coordination. HIS Radeon RX 480 is a really ugly looking card. If you have a side panel and you like showing off the hardware you have packed inside your case you are not going to get one of these. I for one would not get one of these.
I do not see what the people behind the HIS Radeon RX 480 were thinking when they came out with this kind of a GPU. When I saw the initial pictures it looked like a prototype I never thought they were going to put the exact same thing into production. But after everything the HIS Radeon RX 480 is here and you can buy one if this kind of thing floats your boat.
I think the only way you could be stuck with one of these things is if there was no other RX 480 available and the HIS Radeon RX 480 was the only model left in stock. If you ask me then honestly if this was the case I would wait instead of buying this GPU.
The funny thing is that there are two versions of this GPU. The OC version and the Turbo version. While the OC version clocks at 1288 MHz, the Turbo is the second fastest at 1338 MHz. Only second to the Sapphire’s Nitro+.
Other features are as follow:
- Full cover backplate
- 6-phase power delivery
- Single 8-pin connector
- LED illuminated logo
This card will be hitting the market in a week or two so you can get one then.
