GTX 1070 Powered ASUS G752VS Laptop Spotted
Only a few days ago, mobile versions of Nvidia’s latest Pascal GPUs were spotted and now it seems like Nvidia is getting ready to officially unveil them during Gamescom 2016. The first known laptop to be using one of the 10 series GPUs seems to be ASUS G752VS, featuring a GTX 1070.
From the leaked image of the laptop’s specifications, it seems like the ASUS G752VS despite having the mobile version of GTX 1070 will be featuring only a 1080p resolution screen at 17.3”. The laptop also seems to be powered by a Core i7 processor and comes equipped with a 1TB HDD and a 256GB SSD for high performance gaming needs.
From the benchmarks of these mobile GPUs that were leaked earlier, they are clearly very powerful and capable cards. In fact, the mobile GTX 1080 can easily match the performance of a Titan X so it is surprising to see ASUS sticking with a smaller resolution screen with something as powerful as the GTX 1070.
The processor in the ASUS G752VS seems to be an i7 6700, clocked at 3.4GHz and without the option to further tweak and overlock it.
Actual retail pricing in US (the price listed on the image is Russian rubles which brings it to around $2,900) and launch date of the laptop is unknown at the moment but Gamescom is just a week away so ASUS will undoubtedly be sharing more information about that.
MSI is also expected to showcase its VR ready gaming laptops during Gamescom 2016. Hopefully, they are better priced than the ASUS one because if that price tag is correct, $2,900 is far too high for a GTX 1070 powered laptop without a 4K display.
Some other recently revealed information suggested that the mobile version of GTX 1070 might actually feature more CUDA cores than the desktop variant although with a slightly slower clock speed.
