Popular Jailbreak Tweaks No Longer Needed With iOS 10
Developers incorporating new features, some of them borrowed from the modding community, is not entirely new and Apple has done it in the past as well for its iOS running on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. With iOS 10, the trend has continued and Apple incorporated a host of new features in their operating system, removing the need for Jailbreak tweaks which people previously used in iOS 9.
Below is a list of some of those Jailbreak tweaks rendered useless by the latest iOS 10 iteration.
QuickCenter on iOS 9 allowed users to interact with various Control Center icons by adding 3D Touch functionality to them. That functionality is now natively in iOS 10. Users can set up Torch intensity by hard pressing on the torch icon, without the need of some tweak, among other features.
This used to be a very popular UI affecting Jailbreak tweak that introduced rounded corners to Control Center, banner notifications and many other areas within iOS. The new UI in iOS 10 has been designed with those rounded corners so there is no longer any need for a tweak
3D Touch to clear notifications
Installing this allowed users to clear all notifications from the Notification Center by use of 3D Touch action, which is now a part of iOS 10 natively.
Cream used to alter the design of Control Center by offering various color schemes so that people had something else to look at besides the monochromatic tone of iOS. This option has now been implemented in the new iOS.
As the name suggests, it allowed users running jailbroken iOS to hide stock Apple applications from the device. The feature is now a part of iOS 10 and allows users to remove the app icons as well as associated data from the devices which can later be downloaded from the App Store.
Similar to the ambient sensor in Android, tweak enabled the functionality on iOS devices that whenever a user picks up the device from a surface or takes it out their pocket, the display activates without the need of pressing a button. This is now a part of iOS 10 and can be toggled on or off.
The ability to send stickers through Messages is now natively included in iOS 10
Another tweak that is now part of iOS 10. Users can send hand written messages or drawn pictures through the stock iOS Messages app
One of the most expensive and popular jailbreak tweaks is now rendered useless by latest iOS. The new rich notification experience in iOS 10 takes care of that and also allows users to add widgets to their lock screen.
