MSI Radeon RX 480 Gaming X 4G and 8G Unveiled: 1316 MHz Core Clock, 8 Pin PCB Design
MSI has launched the Radeon RX 480 Gaming X 4G and 8G graphics cards. Both cards come equipped with an 8 Pin power connector and feature the new TWIN FROZR VI thermal design. The powerful TWIN FROZR allows for higher core clock and memory speeds for best gaming experience in 1440p and VR.
MSI has also implemented its patented TORX Fan technology with TORX Fan 2.0 which generates 22% more air pressure for better cooling while keeping noise levels to the minimum. Further, the huge heatsink is connected up to 8mm thick heat pipes designed for optimal heat transfer from the solid nickel-plated baseplate.
The MSI GAMING dragon RGB LED on the side of the graphics card gives gamers maximum freedom to choose the right scheme for their gaming rigs out of 16.8 million colors. The card also sports a matte black metal backplate which adds to the structural strength of the PCB along with offering a nice finish touch.
Speaking of the specs, the Radeon RX 480 Gaming X features core clock of 1303 MHz in Gaming mode, and 1316 MHz in OC mode, with memory bumped up to 8.1 Gbps. For power, there is a single 8 Pin connector that enables higher overclocking performance by pushing the card to its limits. The output ports include two HDMI, two DisplayPort, and one DVI-D connection.
We don’t have details on pricing yet, but we’ll known soon as both 8GB and 4GB versions of the MSI Radeon RX 480 Gaming X are expected to launch around the mid-August.
