Nvidia Cataclysm Liquid Solver For The Unreal Engine 4 Makes Things Realistic
Nvidia Cataclysm Liquid Solver has been created for the Unreal Engine 4. This makes liquid physics look really amazing and realistic. The video demos shows the impact it could have in gaming and how the water could look like and interact. one of the most difficult things to do in a game is render water. Making water look and act realistic is a very difficult thing to do.
Nvidia Cataclysm Liquid Solver provides a solution to that problem. We do not know when this will be coming out and this video seems like it is only a demo.
This new Nvidia Cataclysm Liquid Solver uses a custom Fluid-Implicit Particle-based GPU solver along with the Unreal Engine 4’s GPU particles combined with Distant Field Collisions. This allows Nvidia Cataclysm Liquid Solver to simulate up to two million liquid particles at once. This is what goes on behind the scenes to create such realistic liquid physics and realistic effects.
This is something new and for now, it only works with Unreal Engine 4. If you want, you can download it from GitHub.
The Cataclysm Liquid Solver can simulate more than a million liquid particles in real time. It uses a custom FLIP based GPU solver at its core. The custom solver is combined with Unreal Engine 4’s GPU Particles with Distance Field Collisions to allow artists to flood environments with physically simulated liquid.
The Nvidia Cataclysm Liquid Solver looks really impressive and we are hyped to see this in action in-game. But there is no word from Nvidia about when this will be coming out. But knowing that something like this exists is enough for now. We will be seeing it whenever Nvidia decides it is best.
Are you hyped about this new tech? I sure am. Let’s see how this will change in-game graphics.
