AMD Second Quarter Result Report 2016, $1,027 M Revenue and More
The AMD second quarter result report for 2016 has been announced today and we will be covering the basics in this post. According to the AMD second quarter result report, the company announced revenue for Q2 2016 of $1,027 million. An operating loss of $8 million was also reported along with a net income of $69 million.
The AMD second quarter result report also shows a Non-GAAP operating income of $3 million and a non-GAAP net loss of $40 million.
Lisa Su, AMD president, and CEO said the following:
“In the second quarter, we accomplished a significant milestone as we returned to non-GAAP operating profitability based on solid execution and strong demand for our semi-custom and graphics products.”
“Based on the strength of our semi-custom products and demand for our latest Radeon RX GPUs and 7th Generation A-Series APUs, we are well positioned to drive growth and market share gains in the second half of the year.”
The AMD second quarter result beats the expectations that we had. AMD has seen a net loss but because of their deal with Microsoft for the Project Scorpio gaming console, the company expects to see an increase in revenue by 15-21%.
This is what was said by the AMD CFO. AMD is still in business even with their net loss and this deal with Microsoft will help the company a lot.
We covered the remarks of AMD CEO Lisa Su about their partnership with Microsoft and what she thought about the Microsoft Project Scorpio gaming console. She had a very positive response and seemed confident in supporting Microsoft with their goals.
It seems that the partnership between AMD and Microsoft is going well and both companies are working together to make the upcoming 4K gaming console more than an idea.
