Nvidia Tegra Next SoC Announcement Coming On August 22nd?
The Hot Chips conference is coming up at the end of August. We expect the Nvidia Tegra Next SoC announcement to be held on August 22nd. It is our speculation that this is a Parker chip for GPUs with 2 Denver 64-bit custom cores and 4 ARM Cortex A57s.
Andi Skende, an engineer who worked at AMD for more than a decade, one who has now joined Nvidia will be delivering the details regarding the Nvidia Tegra Next SoC at the Hot Chips conference at the end of next month. According to our speculations Parker will be getting an upgrade to the new Nvidia Pascal architecture. With some luck, we might be able to see Parker based products by the end of this year. However, it is more likely to show up in early 2017.
The Nvidia Parker chip could be more power hungry and it might not fit into tablets. On the other hand, it will give incredible computing performance to autonomous driving car developers and manufacturers.
Nvidia also has plans of talking about the high-performance Pascal GPU and NVLink Interconnect at the event.
While MediaTek will be talking about Helio X20. For those of you who do not know it is the first tri-cluster deca-core mobile application processor, the SoC which has CorePilot 3 technology because of which it has high performance and power efficiency.
AMD will also be at the event and they will be talking about the new high-performance x86 core chip design. Now looking at what AMD has been teasing and talking about for the past month the clever speculation would be that AMD will be talking about Zen at the event. A processor series that we are all excited about. Even though we know that it has been pushed to 2017 we still want to know what AMD has in store for us.
Out of all this Nvidia Tegra Next and AMD Zen seem to be the most exciting things we will hear about at the event. Let’s see what more we can learn at the event.
