FRAPS 3.6.0 In Development; Not Dead Yet
This may come as a surprise to many but FRAPS is not dead yet. You might have thought so since we have not heard from them since 2013 but they are working on FRAPS 3.6.0. The new software is in development and FRAPS is making a comeback with FRAPS 3.6.0.
For those of you who do not know FRAPS was a benchmarking tool back in the day and now it is coming back with updates and support for Windows 10 in the under development FRAPS 3.6.0. This new version will feature plenty of fixes and improvements. This will be good news for old FRAPS users who have missed the software and were forced to move on. Well, you guys will be able to come back now when FRAPS 3.6.0 comes out.
Thanks for your inquiry. Our developers are currently working on the next version of Fraps (3.6.0) which will include official support for Windows 10, as well as other minor bug fixes and improvements.
Unfortunately I am unable to provide you with a release date, however we do hope to have it available for download from our website as soon as possible. I apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime.
At this time we do not know when FRAPS 3.6.0 will be coming out and whether or not it will support new APIs like DirectX 12 and Vulkan. The developer did say that they will update their site as soon as they can so we might be hearing something soon.
FRAPS has had a long break now and people have left in favor of other utility tools and benchmarking software. Let’s see how people react to the new software update when FRAPS 3.6.0 comes out. Assuming that it does, in fact, come out as the developer stated. They have been away so long that you can never be sure. Let’s all hope for the best.
