Checkout How Awesome Pokemon Go On HoloLens Would Be
Pokemon Go has been exceptionally successful since it released last week. Pokemon Go is an augmented reality game which players play using camera on their smartphone. However, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella disagrees with the idea of using phone’s camera, and prefers players seeing with their own eyes and playing Pokemon Go on HoloLens would be interesting.
Lets just say that a group of HoloLens developers took her words to the heart and created something amazing. The team developed a demo of Pokemon Go on HoloLens, which for the record is still a concept and has no connection to its developer or publisher. This demo is just a showcase of HoloLens, and it is not a confirmation that Pokemon Go is being developed for this system.
However, judging from how awesome Pokemon Go on HoloLens is, its hard to think of a reason for not making it a reality. According to David Robustelli, Head of Digital at CapitolaVR, the company behind this demo, they were amazed about how easy is to make an app for HoloLens.
We were actually amazed how easy it is to launch an app for this device and create and optimize the mechanics and interaction. The build was created in Unity with the HoloLens SDK.
On the other hand Pokemon Go has not yet released on Windows Phone, and given that how busy Niantic is with iOS and Android version of the game, It is unlikely that we see the game on a Windows Phone any time soon.
However, Windows Phone users have already launched a petition to port the game on Windows Phone, and given that Microsoft already provides solution to port iOS games to Windows 10, it should not be a difficult task.
After watching this demo, do you think Niantic should bring Pokemon Go on HoloLens? Let us know in the comments.
