Report: Two Next Gen Google Smartwatches In The Works
Smartwatches are increasingly becoming popular, and many companies have already launched smartwatches. However, a report suggests that Google is also working on its own Google Smartwatches.
The report comes from Android police, and suggest that there are two Google Smartwatches in the works, and these Android wear based smartwatches will be manufactured by a third party.
According to Android police, the above image is the recreation of their primary source, and are confident that these stills depict their source material. The main reason for these recreated images is to keep their source anonymous.
The larger smartwatch is based on “Angelfish” device, and according to the report will feature a heart beat monitor, GPS, and LTE connectivity, so it does not depends on any smartphone. This watch has three buttons compared to other Android Wear smartwatches which usually have only one. So we might see Google Assistant integration with contextual alerts due to the extra buttons.
The smaller one is codenamed “Swordfish” and has a smoother look to it, and will have only one button. It will reportedly feature HRM, GPS or LTE features of the larger watch. Both of these Google Smartwatches will have customizable watch faces, that will be integrated in Android Wear 2.0, which Google showed off earlier this year at Google I/O.
The report does not suggest any release date for these smartwatches, we think that these would release alongside Google’s next gen Nexus Smartphones.
What do you think of these smartwatches? Let us know in the comments.
