Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 VR Game Boost Fix is Being Worked On
The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 VR ready GPU is not as VR ready as we thought it was. Previously we talked about the issues that people were facing with the HTC Vive. There is also a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 VR Game Boost issue. Game Boost does not work properly when using the GTX 1080 VR ready GPU with a VR headset.
The fact that the claimed VR ready GPU is not as VR ready as we thought is a disappointment, considering the fact that it is the most powerful GPU on the market and it has been introduced for VR gaming in the first place. It was one of the selling points of the GPU.
Nvidia has been quiet about the matter but now it seems that they have been forced to answer. Nvidia’s Senior PR Manager, Brian Del Rizzo recently said that the issues have been noted. Both regarding the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 VR Game Boost and the HTC Vive. He says that the company is working on a fix and that there would be one sometime soon.
This would be relieving for people that have come across this issue as I know that not everyone has the bank balance to afford a VR ready PC as well as a premium VR headset like the HTC Vive. Maybe Nvidia thought many people would not be affected that is why they did not respond sooner. I do not know what was going on in their heads but it is great that we are hearing from them now.
Now all we can do is wait and see how Nvidia will deal with the issue. I do not think that the HTC Vive issue can be resolved so easily but the GTX 1080 VR boost issue can be solved with an update. That would be a simple enough fix.
