Calyos Offers Passive Cooling Solution for PC; Haswell-E, Titan X
Heat and noise are the enemies in any PC build. Some people stick with the stock fans, while others take a step ahead and go with custom aftermarket fans. Other enthusiasts ditch air cooling all together and go with water cooling for their builds. Calyos seems to have an answer to the heat problem that PC builders have with their passive cooling solution for PC.
This Passive Cooling Solution is fan-less and is built mainly from off the shelf parts. With a Haswell-E and a Titan X inside the system, Calyos claims that their passive cooling solution can keep the temperature under 75 degrees while running heavy duty benchmarks like 3DMark and Prime95.
According to Calyos, their passive cooling solution can dissipate up to 600W of heat. This could be a great cooling solution for some but I think this is not the thing for me. It is pretty large and it does take a major area of the case. Sure it may be silent and will keep the system quiet but well-made air-cooled systems are also very quiet until you are really stressing them out. They also look better than this solution does.
For me, aesthetics play a very important role when it comes to PC building. PCs are very personal things and having something like this on my PC is just not the answer for me. I would rather do with a more subtle approach than have this even if it means a bit higher temps, no issues,
Nothing is perfect and you have to compromise somewhere. I would not choose this for my PC. You could have a different opinion on the other hand. It call comes down to choice and perspective. One man’s junk is another man’s gold. Let me know what you think about this passive cooling solution.
