Apple MacBook Air 2016 Release Rumors: Conflicting Reports Hit The Web
While Apple fans have their eyes set on the MacBook Air 2016, there are several reports which suggest that the Cupertino might have discontinued the Air lineup completely. Meaning, it’s possible that the MacBook Air 2016 could not happen at all.
Rumor has it that Apple will not be producing Air models, including the iPad Air and the MacBook Air, any more. As for why the company would do this, reports allege that the 9.7 inch iPad Pro and the 12 inch MacBook 2016 launched earlier this year, are ultimate products and might have killed the need for Air updates.
Other reports however claim that the new MacBook Air 2016 is set to arrive real soon. This is based on the fact that the 13-inch MacBook Air model has received price drops that will be valid till stocks last.
In addition to this, Apple is said to be working on a 5K display technology. The rumored display will carry a resolution of 5120×2880 pixel and could be used in the MacBook Air 2016 or even the MacBook Pro.
If previous reports are to be believed, Apple MacBook Air 2016 could be powered by AMD Polaris 11 GPU. The device might also get a Touch ID fingerprint scanner, as well as a brand new OLED touch bar that would replace the conventional functional keys. Further, Apple could also ditch the 3.5mm jack in favor of a Lightning port, making the device simpler and thinner.
Rumored to be discontinued by Apple, will MacBook Air 2016 still become a reality? Let us know in the comments below.
