AMD FreeSync TV is Coming Near You Very Soon
Good news for gamers who like to play games in their living room on the big screen. AMD FreeSync is coming for TVs very soon. AMD has been working on AMD FreeSync for TVs for some time now and according to the company AMD FreeSync for TVs is coming out real soon. Richard Huddy, Chief Gaming Scientist said the following:
“It’s there on HDMI, too, which is cool,” he said. “We’re there before it’s on monitors, and on TVs, actually. They’re coming, they’re coming very soon, actually.”
“You bet. Yes on HD TVs, yes on Ultra HD TVs. You know that when you run [a game] on PC you’re going to get those variations in frame rate… FreeSync delivers a wonderful experience. If you don’t have it in your lounge you’ll feel rather deprived.
“Absolutely it will be there on HD TVs but I don’t have any idea when it’ll be announced… I believe it’ll be coming to market this year.”
AMD FreeSync does not need any additional hardware for your TV and will work out of the box. Nvidia’s Gsync, on the other hand, does raise costs for such displays by $50.l The AMD FreeSync will work on your TV out of the box and you will be paying the same price, unlike Nvidia’s offering.
He subsequently said:
“I got people excited about HD TVs supporting FreeSync. That that we can say is not what I said. There is support for FreeSync over HDMI, available in monitors, and there will be more monitors coming to market in 2016.
“The statement I made…I withdraw. That’s me speculating, not AMD.”
A conflicting statement to say the very least. But this could very well be a possibility. We will have to wait and see what AMD comes up with in the future. I for one would want AMD FreeSync on my TV. That would be very cool.
