Aftermarket Custom Radeon RX 480 Designs by Sapphire Asus and More
Update: There seems to be some confusion over the prices listed below. It needs to be clarified that these prices are Singapore dollars; hence, the “S$.”
The AMD RX 480 was just launched a day ago and people are going crazy about it as expected. We are yet to get specific numbers about the sales but we are here to talk about the aftermarket custom Radeon RX 480 designs right now.
MSI has added the custom Radeon RX 480 design to their line up of graphics cards and we are going to see their take on the new budget-friendly GPU sometime soon. We saw the Sapphire Nitro custom Radeon RX 480 design a while back as well. Now it seems they have gone with a black color instead of a silver look.
There could be 2 versions of the card or maybe Sapphire simply ditched the silver altogether. We are not sure about that. But the black does look better than silver.
The Sapphire Nitro Custom Radeon RX 480 Design has an 8-pin power connector which is a step up from what you get on the reference design. This means you will be getting more power than on the standard card from AMD.
Asus has also come to the Custom Radeon RX 480 party with their ROG Strix RX 480. This will be featuring the new Polaris 10 XT.
This seems to be the furthest away from the reference design with a tri-fan design for maximum cooling. As Asus calls it DirectCU III cooling. This card will be cooler and quieter than the reference model. This will also feature RGB lighting.
We will also be getting a great looking backplate with the Asus Custom Radeon RX 480 as well as one-click easy overclocking. We might also be seeing some other cards from PowerColor which is known for its dual-GPU cards.
There might be a 2X RX 480 or an RX 480 2X in the works as they are calling their upcoming product the demon card.
Prices for these aftermarket RX 480s is as follows:
- ASUS (S$409)
- Gigabyte (S$409)
- HIS (S$389)
- MSI (S$399)
- PowerColor (S$388)
- Sapphire (S$399)
