Overpriced GTX 1080s Getting Negative Reviews on Amazon
There is no doubt that the GTX 1080 is the most selling high end GPU of all time. It is more powerful and less power hungry than previous generation GPUs. Not only that but it is more powerful than the Nvidia Titan X and at half the price too. At the $500 price point, both the GTX 1080 and 1070 are great offerings by Nvidia. Still, the overpriced GTX 1080s (apparently) are getting negative reviews on Amazon.
People are selling overpriced GTX 1080s on Amazon and because of the price difference the overpriced GTX 1080s are getting negative reviews and there is nothing that manufacturers and resellers can do about it.
The GTX 1080 MSRP is $599 but overpriced GTX 1080s are going for even more than $820. This is upsetting plenty of people that are buying these overpriced GTX 1080s from Amazon. In response to an angry customer EVGA responded as follows:
“Dear Valued Customer,
I am sorry to hear about your confusion regarding the pricing of our products. Independent Marketplace Sellers on Amazon may choose to sell one or more of our products above our recommended Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Any pricing from independent Marketplace Sellers is unrelated to the price that Amazon itself sells the EVGA products for. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
EVGA Customer Support”
These are overpriced GTX 1080s and I do not know why people do not check the official price before making a purchase. I mean there is no use calling customer service if you are not going to check the price with the retailer before you buy the product.
There is nothing that retailers and manufacturers can do about this overpricing issue. Anyone who has got some GTX 1080s and is selling them on Amazon can sell them for any price they want.
