Nvidia’s HB SLI Bridge Available Now, Recommended for Pascal Cards
Nvidia’s HB SLI Bridge is their new SLI solution for their new Pascal series of GPUs. Nvidia’s HB SLI Bridge provides better performance when playing games at high resolution with multiple displays. These SLI bridges only work with the new Pascal GPUs and provide a higher bandwidth than previous generation SLI bridges.
Nvidia’s HB SLI Bridge is available at the Nvidia storefront and right now it is only being sold out as one per household. The stocks are depleting and there is another shipment coming in soon. Nvidia’s HB SLI Bridge will cost you £32.99 or $39.99.
If you want an SLI configuration for your GTX 1080 or 1070 then you are going to need one of these. But with these new series of GPUs by Nvidia you are recommended to stick to only 2-way SLI and no more.
Previously we heard that though 2 way SLI was advised you will still be able to have a 3 way or 4 way SLI with the enthusiasts key that you could get from Nvidia. But that was all dropped by Nvidia later on.
Now there is no enthusiasts key and users will have to stick to 2-way SLI. It would be cool to see Nvidia take this limitation back and enable some way of getting more than 2-way SLI. I am sure there are people who got 3 or 4 GPUs and later found out that they could not use them together.
These are the most powerful single GPUs in the market right now so why not have this option? I do not know why Nvidia has chosen to go down this road but I am sure this has disappointed some people. yes, most people are not going to feel the need for such a rig but there are enthusiasts out there that do all kinds of odd stuff. I admit if I could, even I would have a 4-way SLI GTX 1080 setup.
