AMD RX 480 Leaked Core Specifications; 144 TMUs and 32 ROPs
We also know that it has 36 CUs and 2304 Shader Processing Units. But that was all that we knew about the upcoming AMD RX 480 GPU. Now that the GPU-Z supports this new GPU we are finding new information about the Graphics card and getting to know the rest of the features that it has to offer.
According to this new leak the AMD RX 480 has 144 TMUs and 32 ROPs. Here we can see the specifications of the 8 GB version of the AMD RX 480.
AMD has made a lot of tweaks to the card and that will affect real world performance. We know that numbers are all well and good in theory and they do give you an idea about how the AMD RX 480 will perform but it is also a fact that the real test is when playing real games and putting the GPU to the test with real world applications.
Numbers can be simple marketing gimmicks and nothing else. While I do not say that they mean nothing I will still be holding judgement till the card is released and there are some real benchmarking with games.
The AMD RX 480 is not that far away now. If all goes well we will be seeing the card in a few days. We will have our first series of reviews coming out in the next week or so. For now all we need to do is keep calm and appreciate the efforts that AMD is trying to make in order to empower the budget gamer.
