AMD RX 480 Overclocked Can Hit 1.5Ghz, Voltage Control up Next
AMD RX 480 Overclocked Will Apparently be More Surprising
It seems the little guy has more than what meets the eye and has more juice than we thought. You do get standard power, plus you can get a 1.5Ghz overclock out of the box.
Things just seem to be getting better and better with the AMD Radeon RX 480. It is small form factor, it has a single six pin power connector, it is crossfire compatible.
We saw some benchmarks of the RX 480 and it performed better than the GTX 980 as well as the rest of of AMD previous generation cards. Now you get all that in $199, seems like a bargain to me. Now they tell us you get even more power with the AMD RX 480 overclocked, Someone pinch me already.
There comes a point where you think to yourself that it just can’t get any better than this and at every stage of the game AMD has just surprised me again and again. AMD is releasing a new overclocking tool that will make overclocking the new RX 400 graphic cards more easier, effective and accessible. This new overclocking tool will allow users to get even more power out of the RX 480. So you as the user can get the best price to performance ratio possible.
Among other features in the overclocking tool you get voltage control. Something that is new in the GPU market and according to wccftech this has never been done before by any GPU maker in the business.
While Nvidia did the exact opposite and limited the control over GPU voltage AMD has gone rogue with the new voltage control feature in their upcoming overclocking tool.
AMD has been offering overclock control with their overdrive utility software but this new tool will take things to the next level and build on that foundation. It is surprising that AMD keeps on coming at us with new things one after another and it will be fun to test the RX 480 overclocked.
