Xbox One keyboard and Mouse Support Coming Soon; Play Anywhere
Microsoft is bridging the gap between PC and Console and bringing them both together with their new Play Anywhere feature. Now it has also been confirmed that Xbox One keyboard and mouse support is coming soon.
While console controllers are best for racing titles and adventure games, a controller is no match for a mouse when it comes to accurate shooting in FPS games. Consoles do feature aim assist but then the AI is doing the work for you and that does not feel immersive at all. Now however with the Xbox One keyboard and mouse support on its way things will change.
It will allow console gamers to take more accurate shots on their own in competitive FPS games and bring them at par with PC FPS gamers. Another issue I had with the console was data entry. Writing a name for your character in open world games or entering a password took forever. Though there are qwerty attachments for the Xbox controller they are not as natural as a keyboard. Xbox One keyboard and mouse support will now solve that problem.
Though a final date has not been confirmed it has been said that users will not have to wait years for this and that it is months away. I like Microsoft direction already and Play Anywhere is truly a great step forward. Microsoft has made up for the past issues and is now showing people that PC is equal to their Xbox brand.
Life for the gamer has never been easier. Xbox as well as PC owners get the same game on both platforms instead of buying the same title separately for both platforms and things are going to get much more fun with cross platform gaming. The gap between console and PC is bridging day by day.
