PS4 Neo Console Info Coming at TGS, Reveal at Paris Games Week
It was a surprise that even though Microsoft announced the Xbox One S and Xbox One Scorpio at E3 2016, Sony kept silent about their next generation PS4 Neo Console. People expected to at least hear something about it but Sony only showed game trailers and VR titles.
It is expected that Sony will not keep things hidden for much longer and that we will get the core details about the PS4 Neo Console at the Tokyo Game Show later this year.
It is expected that Sony will at least confirm the capabilities of their product. Leaks show that the PS4 Neo Console packs an 8 core Jaguar CPU at 2.1GHz along with 8GB GDDR5 memory at 218GB/s and an AMD Polaris GPU.
Other sources claim that Sony will launch the PS4 Neo Console at the Paris Games week on October 27th. These reports are by people that have been right in their predictions in the past so this information may be true as well.
Andrew House, Sony Interactive Entertainment president confirmed that the PS4 Neo console will not have its own game library and that previous games will work on it. It was also confirmed that the console will have 4k gaming as well as playback.
This means that it will compete with Project Scorpio which is not due till next year.
If the reports are true and Sony is aiming to release the PS4 console this holiday season then this will give Sony a head start as Project Scorpio is not due till next year. Giving Sony a lot of leg room. PS4 sales have been way more than the Xbox in the past and I do not see how Xbox will make a recovery if their console is coming out so late.
I do not expect people to wait while there is a console in the market already available.
I do not know how long Microsoft expects people to hang on to their Xbox Exclusives.
