Project Scorpio VR Compatibility; Can Work With Rift and HTC Vive
Microsoft announced their next generation console the VR ready Project Scorpio. The specifications that they released were simply amazing and the console is a beast of a machine. Phil Spencer also talked about Project Scorpio VR compatibility and that it could support Oculus Rift or HTC Vive.
Microsoft is not looking to get into first party Project Scorpio VR head sets and it is possible for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive to work on the Project Scorpio. This will give future Project Scorpio users freedom of choice. Unlike the Sony VR where you need to have a PS4 to make it work.
Microsoft is not limiting the VR enthusiasts and this seems like a very good move and a good direction for Microsoft at this time.
Plus if you already have an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive then you can just get Project Scorpio when it comes out and you are all set. You can use the same VR headset for your PC and because of Project Scorpio VR compatibility on your future console too.
With the Xbox Play Anywhere feature you can get a title on the Xbox and get a free copy for PC and experience VR across both the platforms. Gamers can greatly benefit from the windows 10 experience.
It is nice to see that companies like Microsoft and AMD are trying to make things easier for gamers around the world and providing them with practical, useful features. Both these companies have introduced products and features that empower the budget enthusiast gamer. While AMD has announced a GPU that will bring VR to the masses Microsoft is providing cross platform capabilities and bridging the gap between PC and Console.
No doubt this is the best time to be a gamer. With latest tech and innovation not only gaming has become more economical but more accessible by the masses.
