Here is the AMD RX 480 and RX 470 PCB up Close
Everyone is excited about the upcoming VR ready AMD Radeon RX 480 GPU. It is a small form factor, inexpensive GPU that will bring VR to the masses and hopefully attract more people to PC gaming this year. We have yet to see this card’s PCB and here it is. The AMD RX 480 PCB is the same as the RX 470.
While the AMD RX 480 is a relatively premium card for 1440p gaming, the RX 470 is more mainstream for the gamer that is just looking for casual 1080p gaming with decent frame rates. AMD aims to target the budget gaming enthusiasts with this range of GPUs.
The AMD RX 480 on the other hand will help bring VR to the masses so that not only the top 1% enjoy this experience as is the new AMD marketing campaign. These GPUs are great value for money.
AMD also released the RX 460 which is for MOBA players like DOTA2 and LOL. This makes sense as a huge portion of PC gamers play on MOBAs.
I am sure everyone including me is excited about these upcoming GPUs and the impact that they will have on the gaming market. We are sure to see some major price drops when these GPUs are finally released later this month. The count down has begun and Nvidia’s head start is getting shorter with each passing day.
Nvidia has already started to offer price cuts on their previous generation GPUs, with the release of the RX 480 I am sure we will be seeing some other offers from the GPU manufacturer as well. It is just a matter of time and supply and demand.
We will see how well Nvidia holds its ground against such an inexpensive yet powerful GPU.
Half the month has already passed and there are only two weeks left before we get to see the AMD RX 480 first hand. Mark your calendars June 29 is the big day.
