AMD’s New Marketing Campaign Empowers The Budget Gamers
AMD’s new ‘The Uprising’ marketing campaign is targeted towards budget gamers that want to experience the next generation graphics but can not pay the premium price. AMD has made it clear in this campaign that they want to push VR and excellent graphics to the masses and not just the top 1%.
With AMD’s upcoming RX 480 priced at just $200, it is clear that they want everyone to experience the power of their new tech and VR. AMD claims to provide the experience of a $700 GPU at a much more reasonable price point with their new GPU and AMD’s new marketing campaign.
AMD has seen that not all gamers that want to play modern day AAA titles can afford a $700 GPU. Many gamers are students that cannot afford a high end GPU. AMD is focusing on the mid-range gamer market in order to provide gamers with a low cost solution and entry to VR.
AMD’s new marketing campaign is also aimed at over clocking and better drivers. We have already seen the driver support for the Mirror’s Edge Catalyst and it seems that AMD will continue to provide great driver support to provide the best experience for gamers.
Also, we have seen how the new RX 480 performs when running Ashes Of the Singularity. More and more benchmarks of the RX 480 are leaking over the Internet as launch day nears. I am sure the everyday budget gamer is going to appreciate AMD’s new direction.
Catering to the mid range gamers would be the best thing for AMD right now as Nvidia is dominating the high end market with their 10 series GPUs. It is however safe to say that AMD’s new marketing campaign and GPU will keep Nvidia on their toes, even if they are not directly competing in the high end market.
There is none stopping people from getting an AMD RX 480 in CrossFire instead of getting a single GTX 1080 or GTX 1070. At the price difference, people can buy dual RX 480s and still save money as compared to the GTX 1080 by Nvidia.
