Asus Introduces Two Strix-edition GTX 1070 GPUs; Dual HDMI For VR
With the Nvidia GTX 1070 coming out, ad vendors releasing their custom GPU designs was just a matter of time before Asus released their Strix-edition GTX 1070 GPUs. Right now, there are two of these Strix-edition GTX 1070 GPUs available by Asus. One is similar to the Founders Edition and the other is faster and hence more expensive.
Aesthetically, the Strix-edition GTX 1070 GPUs are identical to the GTX 1080s and side by side you might not be able to tell the difference. When it comes to just looks, I really like the Strix’ design and the previous generation GPUs are just as great looking as the latest ones. The GPUs feature three Aura-LED fans along with an angular design and come with DirectCU Cooling III.
Both the Stix-edition GTX 1070 GPUs have plenty of output options: two HDMI 2.0 ports, a pair of two DisplayPort 1.4 interfaces and a DVI-D port. These two Strix-edition GTX 1070 GPUs exceed the requirements for excellent VR performance. Dual HDMI is a great option for VR enthusiasts that want to reserve one of the ports for their respective VR devices.
The inclusion of dual HDMI as well as the great performance make this card a great offering for VR gaming enthusiasts. But these cards are not what you call inexpensive. Such power does come at a price. The base model will set you back $429.99. The OC edition on the other hand costs $449.99.
I have always been a huge fan of the Asus Strix line-up. Not only do the products look good they perform just as well. It is great to have these GTX 1070 custom GPUs by Asus and I am looking forward to getting one myself whenever I can. Sure there are other players in the market that have great products too but Asus has a soft spot in my heart.
