AMD Radeon RX 480 3DMark Fire Strike Benchmarks Leaked, Beats GeForce GTX 980
We have all heard about AMD releasing a budget friendly VR card that will appeal to the masses. A card that has great performance and is VR ready and costs only $200 is all well in good in theory. What are the actual numbers behind this offering? We can not just rely on AMD’s claims. This leaked Radeon RX 480 3DMark Fire Strike benchmarks reveal that it beats the GTX 980.
Here in these leaked Radeon RX 480 3DMark Fire Strike benchmarks, you can see that the AMD GPU beats the GTX 980. Though the numbers may not be very significant you need to keep in mind that the 4 GB AMD Radeon RX 480 that has been tested here is more than half of what the GTX 980 costs now.
These Radeon RX 480 3DMark Fire Strike benchmarks seem legit and this is the 4GB version being tested out. There is also an 8 GB version that should be much more powerful. If this card is even close to what AMD claims then I am very excited for its launch.
This AMD VR solution for the masses is sure to bring about price drops and it is a great time for an AMD setup. Now would be the time team red fans were waiting for. I think that this offering by AMD is a very good thing and competition in the GPU market is very important. If it was not for AMD, Nvidia would be able to sell their GPUs at any price that they wanted.
The Radeon RX 480 will come out later this month and we will all witness the impact that it has on the gaming industry. I just hope AMD keeps its promise and does not back off like what they did with the Zen processors. We will see more numbers coming out as the the release date comes closer.
