Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 GPU Benchmarked With Three 4K Displays
Nvidia did claim that their new series 10 GPUs would provide the best multi-display experience with their new simultaneous projection technology. TweakTown put this claim to the test by benchmarking the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 GPU with three 4K displays. This adds up to a total resolution of 11,520 x 2160, which is huge to say the very least. The new 10 series GPUs do beat all the competition at the high end side of things but this is one hell of a performance benchmarking test.
Far Cry Primal is a beautiful and graphic intensive game that stresses out most cards at 1440p. No doubt about that what so ever. But this is the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 GPU we are talking about. This is top of the line stuff. How does it perform with Far Cry Primal running at 11,520 x 2160? Well it does beat everything in creation but with an average FPS of 17 I would not call it the game playable. But it is a significant number on its own.
It is pretty much the same story with Metro: Last Light Redux. With an average FPS of 11.5 the game is hardly playable but this is a performance test of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 GPU benchmarked with three 4K displays. So there is hardly a chance someone is going to have this kind of a setup in the first place.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is one of the most graphic intensive games there is on the market right now. With an average FPS of 23.7, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 performs amazingly well. The ultra preset was being used for this test and if the graphics were turned down just a little bit I bet the game would be smooth even at 11,520 x 2160. So big achievement here.
Though the Rise of the Tomb Raider has been out for a while now the original 2013 reboot is an amazing game to play. Everything about the game is beautiful and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 does wonders here. Even at such a high resolution of 11,520 x 2160 the GPU manages 27.5 average FPS.
The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 GPU does in fact support 8K and TweakTown will be doing their benchmarking at 8K too. That would be something to see as well. Though these numbers mean nothing to most of the people out there it goes to show how much we have achieved in gaming.
