Nvidia Releases GeForce 368.39 Drivers for GTX 1070 Launch, Optimized for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst
Yesterday, AMD released their driver update to support Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. Now Nvidia is doing the same with their GeForce 368.39 drivers which provide optimizations for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, as well as for the new Oculus Rift title Edge of Nowhere. The new Game Ready Drivers also support the highly anticipated Nvidia GTX 1070.
The Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is the second installment in the series and will feature hyper setting which according to Nvidia can only be used at 60 FPS and 1440p if you have a GTX 1080. These hyper setting bring dramatic improvement to the game surroundings as well as shadows and lighting.
Nvidia also says that gamers with an SLI setup might encounter problems with Mirror’s Edge Catalyst on windows 8.1. You can look that up at the customer service page to see if you will be affected.
Edge of Nowhere is a Oculus Rift title in with the player investigates what happened to a missing expedition in Antarctica. The game has had some mixed reviews since its launch. While some gamers praise the games immersive VR and graphics there are others that complain about the game being rather short. Of course, VR is relatively new in the market right now and there are bound to be some problems with the VR games. It will take time for VR games to get more refined.
In short, the new Nvidia drivers are here to support Edge of Nowhere, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst and the upcoming GTX 1070 GPU. The GPU will be launching on Friday. If you have a GTX 1080 and you want to play the Mirror’s Edge Catalyst with the best possible experience then you should get these drivers. Lets see how the hyper setting turn out.
