HTC Vive Orders Now Ship In 72 Hours Worldwide, Will Also Hit 100 US Stores
HTC has announced that its SteamVR powered VR headset, HTC Vive, will hit 100 stores in US this month, and those who order online will receive their orders within 72 hours.
When HTC Vive was launched in April, the virtual reality headset encountered some problems. There was no problem with the headset or the technology, the problem was with HTC Vive orders not delivering on time.
Pre-orders for the HTC Vive started in February, but as soon as the launch date arrived, the company extended the delivery times due to high demands which made customers furious. Not only this, as time went on it was revealed that some pre-orders suffered some frustrating payment issues by the hands of HTC third party payment provider, Digital River.
In an attempt to rebuild its reputation, HTC has announced that if people order HTC Vive through their online shop for $799 USD, the company will ship their order within 72 hours worldwide. This is quite a bold step to redeem themselves, however, it is important to mention that Digital River is still tasked with the payments associated with your HTC Vive orders.
Along with this new initiative, HTC is also taking steps to ensure retail sales, with 100 locations to get Vive Demo booth throughout North America. It is usually called truism that VR is a technology and needs to be appreciated, and with this move HTC might achieve it.
It is strong move by HTC to earn its customers trust and to compete with its biggest competitor Oculus Rift.
