Nvidia GTX 1080 Founders Edition Fan Revving Issue Fix Coming Soon
So far, the GTX 1080 Founders Edition has run into two major problems, one being short supply at launch and second being the fan revving issue which is the most annoying.
Last week, some Geforce Forum users complained about the fan revving issue of the GTX 1080 Founders Edition. The users complained that the fan speed rapidly increases to 3000 RPM no matter the temperature or software being used at the time.
If you are having these fan revving issues in your GTX 1080 Founders Edition and thinking about returning the card, then you might want to wait a few days as Nvidia has reportedly found a solution to the problem, and will be fixed it with the next driver update. Nvidia representative has confirmed that the fix has passed the internal testing.
Update 6/1/16 – We are testing a driver fix to address the random spin up/down fan issue.
Update 6/2/16 – Driver fix so far has passed internal testing. Fix will be part of our next driver release.
The next driver update will most probably will release sometime this week, hopefully shortly before the release of GTX 1070.
