Dragon Themed MSI 2 Way SLI Bridges for Pascal Based Cards Revealed
With the launch of the Nvidia GTX 1080 and GTX 1070, the company recommended not to have a multiple card setup and that if needed users should only opt for 2 way SLI as compared to 3 way or 4 way SLI that could be set up before. Though you can still do it by getting an enthusiasts key from Nvidia it is not recommended.
That being said, Dragon Themed MSI 2 way SLI bridges for Pascal based GTX 10-series graphics cards were showcased at Computex 2016. These are for the tech heads that want a dual Nvidia GTX 1080 or GTX 1070 configuration.
Nvidia recommends high end SLI bridges like the dragon themed MSI 2 way SLI bridges for optimal performance at 4K. This series of SLI bridges have a LED lit dragon on them and hence the MSI dragon theme as seen on their other products. The SLI bridges were showcased on dual MSI GeForce GTX 1080s.
Right now, it is not certain whether these high end SLI bridges will be sold with the cards or separately but we will find out soon enough.
Testing and reviews have shown that the custom MSI GTX 1080 is better in many ways than the Nvidia GTX 1080 Founders Edition graphics card. MSI’s custom design not only performs better but also comes at a lower cost. So the bang for the buck pretty much speaks for itself at least when you compare it to the original card. It is no surprise that MSI would use their own custom cards to show off their new Dragon Themed MSI 2 way SLI bridges for Pascal based cards.
It would be great for MSI to include these amazing dragon themed SLI bridges with the cards but if they choose not to then everyone that want a dual GTX 1080 or 1070 setup will need one of these for the best performance possible at 4K resolution and 60 FPS.
