Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 PCB Revealed In New Pictures
Nvidia has released new pictures of GeForce GTX 1070, giving us a good look at its boards and see what is changed compared to GTX 1080’s PCB.
According to rumors, GTX 1070 performs almost on par with GTX 980 Ti, so in terms of performance per dollar, this would be a very interesting solution for those who are upgrading from GTX 680 or GTX 970.
However, we recommend waiting for custom cards based on GP104-200 silicon, as Founders Edition is currently locked at 112% TDP for no particular reason.
Overclocking for GTX 1070 has been limited to 1980-2050 MHz. If such power limit is applied to all GTX 1070 cards, then this is a unnecessary move from NVIDIA to limit GTX 1070 performance.
If the PCB of GTX 1070 is compared to the PCB of GTX 1080, then there is nothing that would prevent GTX 1080 water-blocks from being applied to GTX 1070. The GTX 1070 has one less VRM phase and few components were either moved or removed.
