EKWB Announces GTX 1080 Full-Cover Water Block in Four Different Variants
EK Water Blocks has unveiled their full-cover liquid cooling solution for Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition graphics cards, based on the next generation Pascal architecture.
Known as EK-FC1080 GTX, the full-cover water block comes in four different variations. Each variation is designed in a way that water flows directly over the GPU, RAM, and VRM, so directly cooling these critical parts and keeping the graphics card stable under high overclocks.
All four variants of the EK-FC1080 GTX water block are the same when it comes to performance; the only difference lies in the overall aesthetics. Each variant is made to cover the entire PCB of the card, along with the corresponding retention backplate which enhances the visual appeal of the GPUs.
Each of them features a central inlet split-flow cooling engine design, which works flawlessly with the reversed water flow without any adverse effect on the cooling performance. Further, the design is so radical that it allows the product to be used in liquid cooling systems using weaker water pumps thanks to exceptional hydraulic performance.
Depending on the variant, the base is made of electrolytic copper or nickel-plated electrolytic copper, while the top is made of quality POM Acetal or acrylic. Irrespective of the base composition, the performance remains the same. Moreover, each base comes with pre-installed screw-in brass standoffs.
As for the pricing, the plain copper blocks cost €99.95, with the nickel-plated blocks sitting at €109.95. Color options for these include black, blue, red, gold and nickel. EK-FC1080 GTX water blocks will be available for purchase through EK Webshop and Partner Reseller Network on May 27th.
