Inno3D Reveals GTX 1080 iChill X4 Ultra Cooling Solution
Ever since the reveal of Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080, AIB versions of this card have been slowly emerging. While Inno3D was the first to reveal its Founders Edition of GTX 1080, now we know everything there is to know about the Pascal-based flagship.
However, PC enthusiasts are waiting for a custom and cheaper GTX 1080 cooling solution that will unlock the full potential of GP-104. It seems like their wait is over, as Inno3D has revealed its latest graphics card cooling solution, the iChill X4 Ultra.
The cooling solution comes in two models: the X3 and X4. Both of these models feature 3 main 92mm fans, while X3 uses Scythe silent fan blades and the X4 aims to offer cooler temperatures with 15 turbine fan blades.
The X4 also features a additional 50mm fan for VRAM and PCB. This Active Power Cooling System provides a sizeable heatsink for the VRAM and board, which is linked to dual heatpipes cooled by the 50mm fan.
Not only this, Inno3D has also revealed a new way to tell the load on GPU through LED light. When the card is using its full potential the color will be red, which is another way of saying that GPU is in full gear game mode.
For low power gaming, the LED will display green color and when in Idle mode the LED will display blue color.
I certainly hope that Inno3D will give us a option to choose our own color based on the preferences or matching the build theme.
