Nvidia’s Ansel Screenshot Tool Allows Up to 61K Resolution
Nvidia has announced another impressive piece of software called Nvidia Ansel, an in-game photography tool which will be released for GeForce graphics cards. The software allows the users to capture highly detailed screenshots of games at high resolutions which are well beyond 4K.
According to the announcement, the Ansel will be built-in in upcoming games, and it will allow its users to pause the game at any point and take a screenshot anywhere and from any angle. Right now, the PC screenshots are limited to just what we can see on the screen, and if we are lucky than we can remove the UI. But, with Nvidia Ansel users can zoom in on the spots, move the camera and even can convert a first person game into a third person game. Users will also be able to put their own post processing filters to the screenshot.
As for now, the most impressive feature added in Ansel is that the software allows its users to raise the resolution of the game just for the screenshot. For example, you are playing a game at 1080p and you find a beautiful spot in the game, you enter the Ansel mode and you can raise the resolution up to 61440 x 34560, which is far more higher than 4K.
This impressive software will not only be available for Nvidia`s newly announced GTX 1080 and 1070, but it will also support 600 series and above. However, the maximum resolution available will be different depending on the graphics card.
Nvidia has already a line-up of games for Ansel, these games include No Man`s Sky, The Division, The Witcher 3, Paragon and Lawbreakers.
