Xbox Next is Five Times Better at Power Than PS4 Neo [RUMOR]
We know that PS4 Neo is going to be Sony’s attempt at upscaled 4K gaming, and we have also heard that Xbox Next is going to be Microsoft’s counterweight to it.
However, it might turn out that the new Xbox is not just an upgrade (as previously speculated) but a whole new model which is going to be a gigantic five times more powerful than Sony’s alleged new console!
An anonymous source in contact with Microsoft and AMD claims to have read some documents relating to the new console and apparently, they reveal that Next is a new model with over 10 TFLOPS.
Not only that, the source claims that we will get the official announcement this year although the launch will be after spring next year.
Here’s an online translation of what the insider has revealed:
I got to to read some slides from Microsoft and AMD about the new Xbox, it is in effect a new model, not a re-visitation of one. They should announce this year at a separate event at E3 2016, but still a few days before fair. The announcement will be made this year but the release of the Xbox next is expected no earlier than next spring, to read the roadmap. It will be open to change hardware, I did not understand if via upgrade or if talking about modifications which may operate on-the-fly, before the release, it will be already extremely powerful starting, I think 5-6 times PS4 Neo, we are something in the order of over 10 TFLOPS, or so.
He says that everything will be as balanced in the Xbox Next as the Xbox One, but it will come with more brute force – something that a the Xbox One lacks in the eyes of a lot of people.
That is not all, here is what is now being rumored about the hardware specs of the Xbox Next:
The chip is based on the family Arctic Island of AMD 14-nanometer FinFET or Polaris-11 Vega, GCN 4.0 in production for this summer, will be custom-class, x86-x64 and always backward compatible with either 360 with One, in fact, the SO will always be virtualized, Win10 Redstone 2 the core of the operating system of choice. it will be sold at a loss; these two years are working, almost immediately after the arrival of One.
For those who don’t know, 10 TFLOPS compares with AMD Radeon R9 Fury X’s 8.6 TFLOPS!
Does this mean Xbox Next will be start of native 4K gaming?
